India’s National Cricket Team defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first T20Is of the three-match series in Gwalior. The Men in Blue have rested several big names to keep them fit for the New Zealand Test series. Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah are missing from the action.
However, Bangladesh looked clueless in front of the young Indian player. Former Pakistan batter Basit Ali went one step further, calling the host squad the IPL XI. He mentioned that Bangladesh had no chance, even in front of the youngsters.
“Is this the same Bangladesh that defeated Pakistan? They failed to stand in front of India in the Test series, and now look what happened in the first T20I.
“Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Axar Patel and Rishabh Pant are not even playing. There is no Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi was not given a chance in the first match. It is not the Indian team but it is an IPL XI for me,” he said.
For India, Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets each, and India won the game in 11.5 overs. Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 39 runs.
“The truth is that Bangladesh can’t challenge India. The team management should give the benched players a chance after winning the second game.”
