Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh were Team India’s heroes in the second T20I against Bangladesh in Delhi. With Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav back in the dressing room, the onus was on the number 4 and the number 5 batters to put the Men in Blue back into the contest.
They not only went on a rampage after facing a few deliveries but also forged a 108-run stand that helped in taking the overall total to 221/9 in 20 overs.
Nitish, playing in his just second international game, amassed 74 runs off 34 balls, with the help of seven sixes and four boundaries.
Rinku managed 53 off 29 balls, with the help of five fours and three sixes. Nitish spoke to Abhinav Mukund, Parthiv Patel, and Saba Karam after the proceedings.
The newest match winner was asked about his conversation with Rinku during their partnership.
“We didn’t discuss anything as he kept on saying God’s Plan, God’s Plan, and God’s Plan. I am happy that I was able to hit cleanly. I wanted to face some deliveries before going for my shots, and no ball from Mahmudullah allowed me to break free. When I hit a six on a free hit, it gave me some kind of momentum, and I went with the flow,” Nitish Kumar Reddy said.
Nitish was also named the Player of the Match for his all-round performance, as he took two wickets as well. “I have been working on my bowling in the nets, and the hard work paid off. I want to live in this moment and enjoy it to the fullest,” he added.
Nitish plays for Sunriers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
