Manoj Tiwary has recalled his removal from the Indian team over a decade ago, with the former player blaming MS Dhoni and the selectors.
Tiwary scored a hundred against the West Indies in an ODI in 2011 but was dropped for the next game, only to get another chance after eight months. He has also spoken about his frustrations in the past.
Earlier, he had said that he would ask MS Dhoni as to why he was removed from the team, even when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were not getting runs.
He recently said that it has been a long time since that happened, but he admitted that the decision damaged his confidence.
“It is a matter of the past, but you still feel sad. It was saddening what happened to me. When I will write my autobiography and start my podcast, I will reveal everything. It crushed my confidence,” Tiwary told Cricket Addictor.
Tiwary played 12 ODIs and three Tests for India National Cricket Team. He made his debut in the CB Series in Australia but was bowled for two runs.
After five below-par outings, he scored 104 not out in Chennai in December 2011, but he was given the next game in 2012.
Tiwary played for the Legends League Cricket, representing Manipal Tigers. However, his team failed to reach the playoffs despite the presence of Robin Uthappa, Harbhajan Singh, and Pragyan Ojha.
“It was a great tournament. I played with some of the legends of the game. It was a warm feeling to reunite with some of the former teammates.”
