Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri doesn’t think that 36 all out will play any role in the upcoming second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. The pink-ball Test in the ongoing series will start on December 6. Shastri warned India that things can change quickly with the pink-ball.
The previous Adelaide Test between the two teams saw the visitors getting bowled out for 36 on Day 3 and went on to lose the contest despite taking 50-plus lead on the basis of the first innings..While Josh Hazlewood took five wickets, Pat Cummins dismissed four batters.
On the latest episode of the ICC Review, Shastri mentioned that Australia will be more under pressure in the day-night Test as the tourists defeated them in the series opener.
“I don’t think it will play any role but it should be at the back of their minds because things can happen quickly with a pink ball. If things don’t go your way and the bowling is good, things can happen fast. India are 1-0 ahead and this should put the players in a good frame of mind. It is a big opportunity for India to put more pressure on Australia,” he said.
Australia have won all their pink-ball Tests in Adelaide, but the visiting team can stop their unbeaten run. In the first Test, Australia were bowled out for 104 and 238 across both innings.
