Prithvi Shaw has broken his silence on the recent snub in his career. The young batter went unsold in the Indian Premier League mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Despite keeping a base price of INR 75 lakh, the franchises didn’t show interest in him.
Earlier, he was dropped from the Ranii Trophjy team of Mumbai, with allegations of indiscipline and taking cricket for granted doing the round. Although he was a part of Mumbai’s team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the returns were marginal. And now Mumbai have dropped him from the team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
He has also fallen behind when it comes to his chances of playing for India and needs a lot of runs to impress the selectors. In his recent social media post, he highlighted his average in list-A cricket cricket and even promised to work hard.
“Tell me God, what more do I have to see, if 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I’m not good enough but I will keep my faith in you and hopefully people believe me in still, cause I will come back for sure. OM SAI RAM,” Prithvi Shaw wrote on his Instagram Stories.
After Mumbai won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, captain Shreyas Iyer reacted to Prithvi Shaw’s performance.
“We can’t babysit any player. He (Prithvi Shaw) has to sit down and think about his performances. He will get the answers, and no one can force him to do anything,” Shreyas Iyer said.
