Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc scripted history in the Indian Premier League 2024 auction. It was Cummins, who became the most expensive player when Sunrisers Hyderabad added him to their squad for INR 20.50 crore.
However, his record was short-lived as Kolkata Knight Riders bought his teammate Starc for INR 24.75 crore,. making him the expensive cricketer in the tournament.
While the cost of Starc’s every delivery will be more than 7 lakh, Cummins’number stands at above 6 lakh.
Former India player Mohammad Kaif couldn’t believe the amount of money that the two Australians got for IPL 2024. He compared their deals with the prize money given to the winning team in the tournament.
“IPL winning team gets Rs 20 cr. Pat Cummins: Rs 20.5 crore. Mitchell Starc: Rs 24.75 crore. Daya kuch toh gadbad hai. #IPL2024,” he wrote.
Starc and Cummins are returning to the Indian Premier League in order to prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024.
