If you want to get over your January blues and plan a holiday this half term, but don’t fancy the hassle of jetting off overseas, why not try a break closer to home?
One of the most popular staycations in the UK is Cornwall – a famed summer hotspot that’s equally as charming in the colder months.
Demand for ‘February half-term Cornwall’ has increased by +350% over the past year, with many travellers looking to enjoy a getaway during the first school holidays of 2025. With Cornwall’s golden coastlines, Looe Bay and Holywell Bay, families are expected to flock to this scenic region to enjoy a UK staycation this February.
It’s also one of the trendiest regions in 2025 with Parkdean Resorts revealing it has 979,500 monthly Google searches.
This beautiful peninsula is surrounded by picturesque beaches and fun-filled attractions, including the Eden Project and Newquay Zoo. It offers plenty to explore.
Visitors can also explore the incredible Lizard Peninsula, where sweeping cliffsides and turquoise seas shimmering in the sun will have you thinking you’ve stepped into the Caribbean.
The Lizard Peninsula is also famous for the local serpentine stone, a unique rock which is dark green, veined with red and white.
Queen Victoria is said to have loved the stone and had a fireplace built out of it at Osbourne House on the Isle of Wight.
Lizard Peninsula is also home to the SEA LIFE Trust’s Cornish Seal Sanctuary which is open for visitors, perfect for a day of exploring.
Each season, the Sanctuary rehabilitates over 70 seal pups that have been rescued and also provides a permanent home to animals that need special care from the team of marine animal experts.
If you want to take a holiday to this gorgeous part of the country then Parkdean Resorts has deals for holidaymakers.
You can visit Looe Bay Holiday Park from £169 for three nights between 14th-17th February, or explore Newquay when staying at White Acres Holiday Park with three night holidays also starting from £169 for February half-term.
