New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner has won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa in the second semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. “We will bat. It is a used wicket, and with winds around, I don’t think dew will have any role. We have played over here, so we know what is needed. South Africa is a good outfit and we will try to put them under pressure,” Mitchell Santner said.
South Africa’s skipper would have batted first as well. “We are not concerned. We also wanted to bat first because of the scoreboard pressure. We have learned from the past editions. We have been in the semifinals and finals, and we will have to win important moments to win the tournament,” Temba Bavuma said.
