Mitchell Marsh has already hit four half-centuries in five matches of the Indian Premier League 2025. Australia all-rounder is playing as a specialist batter due to fitness issues and is making the most of the opportunities the franchise has given him. In the latest match against Kolkata Knight Riders, he amassed 81 runs off 48 balls, with the help of 6 fours and 5 sixes at the Eden Gardens.
He added 99 runs with Aiden Markram as the LSG posted 238/3 in 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran posted 87 runs off 36 deliveries, packed with 8 sixes and 7 fours.
Marsh is the second-highest run-getter in the 18th season of the tournament. He has scored 265 runs at an average of 53.00 and a strike rate of 180.27 in five matches. He is behind Pooran, who has managed 288 runs in five games in the tournament.
Virender Sehwag praised the big-hitting batter. “He hasn’t hit four half-centuries in his whole IPL career but has achieved the landmark in one IPL season. He is dangerous like Nicholas Pooran. If Marsh stays in the middle for a few overs, he leaves the team in a great position as other batters can capitalize on it,” Sehwag said on Star Sports.
Marsh has been a part of the franchises in the past, but his injury-prone body didn’t allow him to show his talent.
