Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. “We’re fortunate to have such great support wherever we play, and we truly appreciate it. A big ‘thank you’ to all the fans. We’ve decided to bowl first because there’s a chance of dew later, and the pitch generally improves as the game progresses. It’s all about maintaining the right mindset. Our batting hasn’t been as consistent as we’d like, but our bowling department is strong. We’re focused on having a positive approach and taking our chances. We believe it’s only a matter of time before it clicks. We’ve made a couple of changes, with Overton and Rasheed replacing Ash and Conway,” MS Dhoni said.
Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant would have bowled first as well. “It’s an incredible feeling. If we had the choice, we would have bowled first as well. In Lucknow, the pitch tends to play slower in the first innings but improves as the game moves on. Our key focus will be not to offer them any opportunities. We need to play to our potential. We’re confident about going out and playing good cricket. There’s only one change, with Marsh returning in place of Himmat Singh,”
Rishabh Pant said.
