Ishan Kishan started the Indian Premier League 2025 with a hundred against Rajasthan Royals, but since then, he has lost his form and presence of mind. In a match against his former IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians, he gifted his wicket to the visiting team at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. On the first delivery of the third over, he tried to play a flick on the ball that was pitched on the leg stump.
The southpaw started walking without any appeal from the MI players, leaving the umpire and fans stunned. Ishan thought that he had nicked the ball, which Ryan Rickelton grabbed. Mumbai players, including the bowler Deepak Chahar, appreciated Kishan, thinking the ball had kissed the willow. However, replays confirmed that Ishan made a blunder, as there were no spikes on the Snickometer.
He scored just 1 run off 4 balls, leaving the score at 9/2. Harsha Bhogle, the famous commentator, reacted to his strange dismissal.
“You think you have seen it all after all these years, and yet I must admit the Ishan Kishan dismissal leaves me perplexed,” Harsha wrote on X.

Ishan was recently included in the central contracts by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He is in Grade C, meaning there is a chance for him to play for the Men in Blue. He was not offered a contract earlier after refusing to play in domestic cricket.
