Virat Kohli continues to divide opinions on his performance in T20 cricket. A section believes that Kohli shouldn’t play in T20Is as he takes time before hitting fours and sixes.
On the other hand, his supporters don’t buy this logic and feel that Kohli is one of the best batters in the shortest format.
Pakistan’s tallest fast bowler, Mohammad Irfan, has mocked the critics of the star India batter. Kohli had once called Irfan the most difficult bowler to face due to his height.
Irfan said that there is no Team India without Virat. “You can’t form an Indian team without Virat Kohli. He is one of the best batters. He was sensational in the ICC World Cup 2023 and won three or four games for the team. His innings against Australia in the group stage match led the Men in Blue to win. “If you say that Virat shouldn’t be there in the T20 team, you are taking the level to street cricket and not international cricket,” Mohammad Irfan said on News24 Sports.
Irfan also shed light on the most essential part of Pakistan in the shortest format. “We have a good bowling line-up. If Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are fit and play together, they can dismiss any team,” he added.
Irfan further said that a lot depends on Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in the batting department. “Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are our best batters, and if they score runs, the rest of the batters also contribute,” he concluded.
