Chennai Super Kings failed to go past Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Hyderbad International Cricket Stadium. There was some ordinary captaincy from Ruturaj Gaikwad as he didn’t start the bowling with Moeen Ali and Maheesh Theekshana, and the pacers went for a lot of runs.
Harbhajan Singh took a dig at the new skipper. “Ruturaj Gaikwad’s captaincy was not up to the mark. He didn’t make the right moves. Spinners should have started the bowling for them. Mukesh was hit for a lot of runs, and that didn’t help the cause,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
Mohammad Kaif roasted Harbhajan for the comment. ‘If Chennai Super Kings win, the credit is given to MS Dhoni. If the team loses, the blame is given to Ruturaj Gaikwad,” Mohammad Kaif said.
When CSK won two consecutive matches, fans and experts praised Dhoni for assisting the Gaikwad. Mahi was all over social media and in experts’ statements. However, the same people are now questioning the new leader after two back-to-back defeats.
CSK didn’t go big after being invited to bat first. The score of 165/5 was never going to test the host team. Sunrisers had it easy, with Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram scoring runs.
