Netflix’s The Crown Season 6 Part1: The story behind Princess Diana’s Revenge Dress
Princess Diana was known for her individualistic style. Her choice of clothing is as popular as her short cropped hair popularly known as the ‘Diana Cut’. Nobody can forget how on June 1994, Diana stepped out for a gala at the Serpentine Gallery in London wearing a fitted, black, off-the-shoulder dress with an asymmetrical hemline and chiffon train that flowed in the wind. This was a bold statement she made and we get a glimpse of that in the recently released Netflix’s The Crown explaining as to why she put on this dress.
The short black ensemble was a little to daring for a member of a typically buttoned-up royal family as the People magazine rightly stated. It was the same night that that Prince Charles confessed on national television that he had been unfaithful to her. As for me Diana will always be the wronged woman. She had everything that a man desires and most importantly a great mother.
Princess Diana was known for her classic sense of style and her off shoulder gown. But on that particular day instead of showing that she is sad, she made her statement with her Christina Stambolian cocktail dress which she wore to a gala at the Serpentine Gallery on that very evening that Charles he did not cheat on Diana till the time their marriage became irretrievably broken down.
