Amid Gautam Singhania-Nawaz Modi split, here’s a look at most expensive divorces of Bollywood

Posted on November 24, 2023November 24, 2023 by admin

Business tycoon Gautam Singhania recently announced his separation from wife Nawaz Modi on social media and this news left everyone shocked. Later, it was reported that Nawaz has accused the billionaire industrialist of assaulting her and one of their daughters in a fit of rage.

While Modi has demanded 75% of his fortune of $1.4 billion for the divorce settlement, Gautam‘s dad Vijaypat told Business Today, “Why is she (Nawaz) fighting for 75%? Gautam is never going to give in, because his motto is – buy everybody and buy everything. That is what he did with me. By fighting like this, I don’t think she’ll get much. Unless she has, maybe, a person like Harish Salve, Mukul Rohatgi, Kapil Sibal.”

Before Gautam Singhania-Nawaz Modi, these celebs divorced after decades of marriage

Well, this is not the first time we saw the demand of a staggering amount for the divorce settlement. In the past, many Bollywood celebs have got a huge alimony after divorce.

Hrithik Roshan-Sussane Khan

After 14 years of marital bliss, Hrithik Roshan and Sussane Khan got separated. While Khan demanded Rs 400 crore, the settlement was done at reportedly Rs 380 crore.

Karisma Kapoor-Sunjay Kapoor

The duo legally got divorced in May 2016. A lawyer involved in the case was quoted as saying, “Karisma will get Sunjay’s father’s house (in Khar) transferred in her name. Sunjay has to purchase bonds worth Rs. 14 crore for the children, which will attract a monthly interest of around Rs. 10 lakh.”

Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna Bhabani

After the couple ended their marriage after 16 years, Farhan paid one-time alimony to Adhuna and she also got his 10,000 square feet bungalow in Bandstand, Mumbai named Vipassana.

Saif Ali Khan-Amrita Singh

After 13 years of marriage, the duo separated in 2004. Talking about the alimony, Saif said in an old interview, “I’m supposed to give Amrita Rs 5 crore, of which I’ve already given her approximately Rs 2.5 crore. Also, I’m paying Rs 1 lakh per month until my son becomes 18. I’m not Shah Rukh Khan. I don’t have that kind of money. I’ve promised her I’ll pay up the rest of the money, and I will, even if I’ve to slog till I drop dead.”
