With the Election Commission of India announcing the Lok Sabha Election dates, the Bard of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally revealed the complete schedule of the Indian Premier League 2024. The governing body of the IPL has initially announced the schedule for the first 21 matches to avoid any clash with the general elections of India.
As stated by the chairman of IPL, Arun Dhumal, the IPL is not going out of the country. Another important point that comes out of the second and final phase of the schedule is that Delhi Capitals will play their remaining games at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The final of the 17th season will not be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium as the iconic M. A. Chidambaram Stadium has been given a chance to host the mega match.
The Qualifier 2 has also been kept in Chennai. Ahmedabad will host Qualifier 1 and Eliminator.
In the tournament’s second phase, 49 league matches and four playoff games will be played.
The final is on May 26, while Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, and the Eliminator will be played on May 21, May 22, and May 24.
