Former Pakistan cricketer, Mohammad Yousuf extended a message of hope to ex-Pakistan captain Babar Azam addressing the latter’s recent batting struggles in the Australia Test series.
Yousuf, who holds the record for the most runs in a calendar year in Tests, urged Azam to bounce back resiliently in the remaining innings of the ongoing Test series.
The expression of support followed Azam’s brief stint at the crease, where he managed only one run off seven balls before falling victim to the Australian skipper Pat Cummins on Day 2 of Pakistan’s first innings at the Boxing Day Test. Cummins had previously dismissed Azam in the second innings of the opening Test. During the first Test in Perth, Azam could only muster scores of 21 and 14 in his two innings.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Yousuf conveyed his motivational message for struggling Babar.
“Be strong now because things will get better, it might be stormy now, but it can’t rain forever,” he wrote.
