In the Oval Test, English all-rounder Chris Woakes, who came out to bat with a broken shoulder , won the hearts of the entire cricketing world by batting with one hand.
Now, Woakes has revealed what Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant said to him when he came out to bat in that condition.
In an interview with The Guardian, Woakes shared that Gill said to him,
“You are truly very brave.”
In response, Woakes told Gill,
“You played exceptionally well in this series, credit goes to your team.”
After this, Rishabh Pant posted a story saluting Woakes, for which the 36-year-old English cricketer thanked him and wished Pant a speedy recovery from his own injury.
Later, Pant sent a voice note to Woakes, saying:
“I hope everything is okay, wishing you a speedy recovery, and hope to see you soon.”
