Digvesh Rathi could be fined for the third time in the Indian Premier League 2025. His notebook celebration style has landed him in trouble on two occasions, with the BCCI sanctioning him with fines and demerit points. He started writing on the ground after dismissing the batter to avoid another fine and suspension from one match.
However, he couldn’t resist taking on Abhishek Sharma in the LSG vs SRH match of the 18th season. Lucknow spinner gave Abhishek an aggressive send-off after taking his wicket. The batter also reacted angrily, and the two shared some words before the umpires and the players separated them.
Seriously, if you keep playing do kaudi ke chapri thugs like Digvesh Rathi, it won’t just be an IPL embarrassment, it’ll be a national disgrace on the international stage.
I hope this guy never makes it to the Indian team. Hasn’t achieved a thing, but already acts like a… pic.twitter.com/AsS87r2L6W

Former India and Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina was miffed with Digvesh for his habit of playing with fire. “He was sold for INR 30 lakh. Digvesh has been fined twice, and the third fine is on the way. What would he take home after the IPL?” It is not good to see two Indian players having a go at each other,” Suresh Raina said.
Although Digvesh took two wickets, it was Abhishek who had the last laugh as Sunrisers defeated Lucknow by 6 wickets, and the left-handed batter was named the Player of the Match for scoring 59 runs off 20 balls.
With their defeat, LSG have been eliminated from the playoff race, and now Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will fight for the remaining one spot.
Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are through to the next round.
