Royal Challengers Bengaluru fast bowler Yash Dayal has landed in a big problem after he was booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A Ghaziabad-based woman mentioned that the cricketer sexually exploited her. The FIR was registered at the Indirapuram police station after an investigation was conducted. The action was taken after she lodged her complaint on the Chief Minister’s grievance portal, IGRS.
Section 69 deals with sexual acts committed on the pretext of false marriage or employment assurances. If the charges leveled are found to be correct, it is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The woman said that she was in a five-year relationship with Yash Dayal, and he exploited her mentally, physically, and financially on the promise of tying the knot. According to her, Dayal also introduced her to his family members. When she spoke to him about his intentions, he became aggressive and continued to harass her.
The complainant also disclosed that the cricketer took money from her and behaved similarly with other women. She further said that she has their chats, screenshots, and recordings to prove her claims.
Yash hasn’t said anything on the matter. He played a key role in RCB’s maiden IPL title earlier this year. He took 13 wickets and bowled crucial overs.
