There is perhaps nothing worse than trying to make your way through a bustling airport terminal while struggling with your bags. However, a handy luggage item on offer for just £21 has been hailed by cabin crew and passengers for its ability to make travel so much easier. The item in question comes in the form of the humble luggage strap, a simple accessory that can combine your hand luggage and wheelie bag into one easy-to-transport item.
There are all manner of brands of luggage straps available on Amazon, but one brand in particular has received rave reviews, including from flight attendants, as well as passengers.
The elastic luggage bungee from GUANJUNX, a brand on Amazon, has received a 4.4-star rating out of a possible five.
One reviewer, who works for a US airline, said: “As a flight attendant, I need to place multiple bags each day on top of each other for work. This does the job. I do put like zip locks on the handle to keep it down, as it moves, but other than that, it does hold my bags in place. I would recommend.”
Another cabin crew member named Aimee explained how the strap has helped her both for work and during leisure travel. In her review, she wrote: “I bought this for a few reasons. I went to Italy with my kids and I knew I would be piling up coats and blankets on my suitcase. This was perfect! Super easy to use and adjust.
“I’m also a flight attendant. My winter coat is SO big and heavy. I don’t bring it most of the time because I don’t want to deal with it. I typically end up freezing when I don’t take it, or annoyed by having to drag it around when I do.
“I found with this simple strap, I can roll my coat up and way the strap around it and slip it over the handle of my suitcase.”
She added: “Anything that makes you more hands free in the airport is a good thing and what I love about this handy little strap is it folds flat so I can tuck it in a pocket and quickly pull it out when I arrive at the airport. When you aren’t checking bags this makes it easier to navigate with your suitcase and personal item.”
The flight attendant also pointed out the versatility of the strap, noting that it can be used “with any type of bag”. She added: “I can secure a tote, duffel, messenger or backpack easily and I can fold or roll my sweater or jacket up and stick it underneath. Just get it. It’s really handy, lightweight and takes up barely any space.”
Passengers have also applauded the item for its ease of use. Now reviewer, who gave the strap a five-star rating, said: “Makes traveling a breeze!!! A must have!!”
The luggage bungee from GUANJUNX, is an adjustable elastic strap which can be stretched easily around bags or can be tightened to keep smaller hand luggage items in place. Simply pop the strap around your hand luggage, and then around the handles of your suitcase.
The bungee also comes with a PU leather support to help with heavier bags.
If you do decide to go with another brand of luggage strap, they all work in a very similar way, though it’s good to make sure the strap has room to adjust for various sizes of hand luggage. Having a supportive panel on the bungee can also help with transporting heavier hand luggage items.
