As individuals increasingly turn to a one-stop Google search for various queries and solutions, the search engine has become an indispensable tool for tasks ranging from finding restaurants to staying updated on the latest trends. Google serves as a trusted source even for more sensitive topics, such as questions related to one’s sex life or precautions.
In situations where individuals may feel hesitant to ask such questions to friends or doctors, Google offers a confidential avenue for obtaining the needed information. As the year concludes, Google has unveiled the top-searched sex questions in 2023, reflecting the diverse queries users seek answers to.
According to a report in Cosmopolitan, Google revealed the 2023 list and the top question is “What is the speed bump position?” This term gained popularity after a contestant on the reality programme Love Island mentioned it during the show. Reality star Tom Clare surprised fans by declaring it as his favourite sex position, leading to a significant increase in searches to understand its meaning. According to the report, the speed bump position involves placing a pillow under a person’s hips as they lie face down.
The second-most asked question revolved around individuals seeking information on whether it is safe to have sex during pregnancy. According to the NHS, engaging in intercourse does not pose harm to the baby, and it is generally considered safe unless otherwise advised by a doctor. The Australian parenting website Raising Children reassures individuals, stating, “You might worry that sex will harm the baby. But your baby is well protected and sealed off in the amniotic sac, so you can’t hurt your baby by having sex.”
Additionally, individuals sought information on the concept of sex positivity. Moreover, another common query was related to concerns about sexual health, particularly why some individuals might experience bleeding after sex. Reports indicate that minor spotting after intercourse can be attributed to factors such as skin irritation or vaginal dryness.
Among the frequently asked questions, individuals were curious about various topics, including:
- How many dates should you go on before having sex?
- How many calories do you burn during sex?
- How long after a miscarriage can you have sex?
- What is anal sex?
- Why do I have no sex drive (female)?
- How do fish have sex?
