India have been impacted by Jasprit Bumrah’s injury in the fifth Test against Australia. His absence allowed the hosts to score at a brisk pace while chasing 164 runs. Prasidh Krishna who replaced Akash Deep for the contest has been impressive with the ball.
Although he has been wayward at times, Krishna has bowled some unplayable deliveries.
Former Australia opener Justin Langer has heaped massive praise on the young pacer. The 28-year-old has taken 6 wickets so far, with Steve Smith failing twice against the speedster.
“He can become a great bowler like Glenn McGrath if he bowls in the right areas. He is still young and hasn’t played a lot of cricket but he has got talent and skills to trouble the batters. I am impressed with his ability to take wickets,” he said on Star Sports.
Krishna was not in the scheme of things but Akash’s ordinary performance in the third and fourth Tests opened the selection doors for the right-arm seamer.
Prasidh is an injury prone bowler and hs career has been hampered by regular fitness issues. If he managed to stay fit, there is a possibility of him playing in the five-Test series against England.
