Allan Border is following the ongoing five-match Test series between Australia and India. In the ongoing third Test at the Gabba, he hailed Mohammed Siraj for his aggression. The right-arm seamer was on the hit list of the former Australia players after his verbal argument with Travis Head in the pink-ball Test.
Michael Clarke, Ricky Ponting, Mark Taylor, Mitchell Johnson, and several others demanded punishment for the speedster. The International Cricket Council fined him 20 percent of his match fee and added one demerit point to his disciplinary record.
However, Siraj and Head ended their differences on Day 3 and spoke to each other when the former came out to bat.
Meanwhile, Border compared Siraj to Virat Kohli when he was bowling in the first session on Day 2 of the Brisbane Test.
“He (Mohammed Siraj) is like Virat Kohli. He can get the crowd up, and I like his aggression. He is a captain’s delight, and you want a fast bowler to be aggressive.
“This guy doesn’t give up and seems to me a very impressive fast bowler,” Allan Border said on Star Sports.
Siraj has taken 9 wickets in two Test matches and is sharing the new ball responsibility with Jasprit Bumrah.
