The Indian selectors have given Yuzvendra Chahal a raw deal despite his magnificent performances in white-ball cricket. He was removed from the list of centrally contracted players, which was beyond all the logic. Credit to the champion spinner; he hasn’t lost interest in the game and is taking wickets for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2024. He dismissed three batters in the last match against Mumbai Indians, including the most important wicket of Hardik Pandya, to contribute to his team’s win.
Former India player Harbhajan Singh has often rallied behind Chahal, and he urged the highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL to keep his dream of representing India alive in international cricket.
Bhajji had a word with Yuzi after the game at the Wankhede Stadium. “He is a champion bowler and best in Iindia. Chahal doesn’t need to prove himself. I hope he wins T20 World Cup for India. I request him to keep his dream of another comeback alive, as a lot of cricket is left in him. He can still win matches for India and I am praying for his return to the Indian team,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
Chahal said he was not thinking about anything and just wanted to enjoy the game. “I am not thinking about my comeback as that’s not in my hands. I have stopped going in that direction. My job is to perform for the teams I play for. I am enjoying my cricket and am looking forward to taking wickets for Rajasthan Royals,” Yuzvendra Chahal said.
For the record, Rajasthan defeated Mumbai by 6 wickets to register their third win of the season. The bowlers restricted the home team to a score of 125 and then chased it down in 15.3 overs with 6 wickets in hand.
