“I was trying to hit five consecutive sixes for last one year”: Sanju Samson reveals the intresting story behind his muscle celebration

Sanju Samson scored 111 runs in the third T20I against Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. He faced 47 balls and hit 11 fours and 8 sixes in his match-winning knock.

Apart from his three-digit mark, Samson also hit five consecutive sixes against Rishad Hossain.

After playing a dot ball, the right-handed batter started the carnage and hit the ball to different parts of the ground. He performed a muscle celebration as soon as the star batter completed his maiden century.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, Murali Kartik urged Samson to reveal the reason behind his aggression.

“I have been trying to hit five successive sixes for last one year. My mentor Gomez told me that five sixes were loading and I needed to complete the task.

“I was not sure when I would be able to hit five consecutive maximums. Luckily, I got a chance today and managed to slam five sixes. The muscle celebration was one of the ways to express my happiness,” he said on JioCinema.

The hosts won the last contest by 133 runs to clinch the series 3-0. India posted 297/6 in their 20 overs and Bangladesh didn’t go beyond 164/7.
