Mumbai Indians will play under a new captain in the Indian Premier League 2024 as the management and owners removed Rohit Sharma and replaced him with Hardik Pandya. The team will start their campaign against Gujarat Titans on March 24 at the Narendra Modi stadium.
They qualified for the playoff last season but lost to GT in the second qualifier.
Ishan Kishan will be watched closely after what happened with him in the last few months. He refused to play domestic cricket despite instructions from India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, and the BCCI secretary, Jay Shah. He was punished by the board by removing his name from the list of centrally contracted players.
MI shared a video in which the wicket-keeper gave an important message to his Mumbai Indians teammates, including Rohit and Hardik. Jasprit Burmah and the fans.
‘We come to the ground to practice before games, but people should not throw water bottles everywhere. We must keep the ground clean. Just small things can improve everything. These changes are very important,” Ishan said in the video.
With the T20 World Cup 2024 to be played shortly after the IPL, Ishan will be keen to prove himself.
