Jos Buttler taught a lesson to his former IPL franchise, the Rajasthan Royals, on his return to Jaipur with the Gujarat Titans. Despite his terrific record, RR didn’t retain him for IPL 2025, and the right-handed batter went on a rampage against the 2008 champions. He joined Gujarat for INR 12.50 crore.
He scored 50 runs off 26 balls and took the score to 209/4 in the allotted 20 overs. The right-handed batter struck 3 fours and 4 sixes, and his runs came at a strike rate of 192.30.
Shubman Gill played a captain’s knock, managing 84 runs off 50 deliveries, packed with 5 fours and 4 sixes.
Sai Sudharsan took the Orange Cap back from Virat Kohli after scoring 39 runs off 30 balls. He has taken his tally to 456 runs from 9 games, 13 more than second-placed Virat.
Sai and Gill added 93 runs for the first wicket. Gill and Buttler then added 74 runs for the second wicket. Maheesh Theekshana took two wickets for the Royals.
