Mayanak Yadav has regained fitness after recovering from the niggle he sustained during the IPL 2024 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. He missed the two games against Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. The franchise missed the Indian pacer, and the result didn’t go in their favour.
Lucknow shared a video of Mayank bowling in training. The Indian speedster was seen bowling under the guidance of head coach Justin Langer and looked all right. Mayank was kept away from the action as LSG didn’t want to aggravate his niggle and made sure that he came back to full fitness. The management is managing Mayank’s workload as well.
“There is very small swelling so we are hopeful to see him bowling soon,” Justin Langer said about Mayank’s injury.
Mayank Yadav’s performance in IPL 2024
In the 17th season, Mayank took six wickets in just three matches. He picked up all the scalps in the first two matches against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Mayank bowled just one over against GT.
He has clocked over 150 kmph, and his fastest delivery registered a speed of 156.7 kmph.
Yadav was named the Player of the Match in the two games Lucknow won against PBKS and RCB. The selectors are looking at him for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, and if he stays fit, he can travel with the squad. He will be eager to play against CSK, who LSG will face in their next two contests at Lucknow and Chennai on April 19 and 23.
