The high-riding concept will likely preview the successor of the BMW iX3

Photos of a partly-covered BMW SUV parked inside a trailer appeared online, and it’s likely related to the Vision Neue Klasse series of concepts. This could be a preview of the next-gen BMW iX3, which has been confirmed to enter production in 2025, riding on the Neue Klasse architecture.
While the mystery vehicle is mostly hidden under a white cover, the ground clearance and the proportions make us believe it is an SUV. The large wheels feature a new design with five spokes, looking very close to production status. We can also see the sculpted fenders and the short front overhang with a dose of plastic cladding on the bumper.

The photos were originally shot by Ajbr.Photography and uploaded on Instagram by Wilco Blok. A second vehicle transported by the same trailer appears to be the Vision Neue Klasse sedan from September 2023, suggesting that BMW plans on showcasing the two concepts together. Chances are that this will happen at the BMW Group Annual Conference 2024 which is scheduled for March 21.
The successor of the BMW iX3 is codenamed NA5 and has made a few spy appearances since November 2023, revealing a few familiar styling traits. These include headlights that merge with the kidney grille, flush door handles, and an iX-inspired greenhouse with the Hofmeister kink on the C-pillars. Inside, the highlight will be the Panoramic Vision head-up display that will be a common feature among future BMW products.
As for the underpinnings, we already know that the Neue Klasse architecture will adopt 800-volt technology. The new generation of batteries will allow a range of around 800 km (500 miles) and be compatible with ultra-fast charging while being smaller, lighter, more dense, and cleaner to produce. Chances are that BMW will offer the iX3 successor with single and dual powertrain options, while an M-branded performance flagship sounds plausible.
We will learn more about the concept at the BMW Group Annual Conference later this month. Hopefully, our spy photographers will catch it before then.
