Former player Virender Sehwag lauded Delhi Capitals for their win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League 2025. Chasing 164 runs, the visiting team was 58/4 at one stage, and it looked like RCB would win the contest, but a brilliant partnership 100-plus partnership between KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs led their team to a six-wicket victory.
Rahul remained unbeaten on 93 runs while Stubbs accumulated 38 not out. Earlier, the bowlers did a fantastic job to limit Bengaluru to 163/7 in the allotted 20 overs. With this win, the Capitals have registered 8 points from 4 games and are the only unbeaten side in the 18th season.
Sehwag, who played for Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings during his career, called it one of the best comebacks. “It was one of the best comebacks in the history of the tournament. Axar Patel was brilliant as a captain, and he rotated the bowlers to perfection,” he said.
Viru also talked about Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav, who took two wickets each for the side. “Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam changed the game with 23-dot balls. Delhi Capitals came to the match with full preparations. They knew where to bowl to batters. Axar Patel was expensive, but he led the side well,” he added.
