Priyansh Arya was magnificent with the bat for Punjab Kings against Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2025. The INR 3.80 crore buy pressed the attacking button from the start and, despite losing partners from the other end, continued hitting fours and sixes, reaching the three-digit mark in 39 balls.
Overall, he scored 103 runs off 42 balls, laced with 7 fours and 9 sixes, as PBKS posted 219/6 in 20 overs. The 24-year-old is playing in his maiden season and former player Navjot Singh Sidhu was ecstatic after the batter completed the milestone.
“Priyansh Arya’s hundred is like 1000 runs for me. I haven’t seen a better innings like this before. Wickets were falling, but he didn’t stop. Everyone will be proud of his effort.
“Ricky Ponting also enjoyed his hundred. However, he didn’t do the full justice as he had the time to remain unbeaten and add more runs to the total. He didn’t relax after reaching a hundred. Priyansh didn’t complete the job,” Navjot Singh Sihu said on Star Sports.
Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru also wanted to buy the youngster, but PBKS went past them due to more money in their purse. His hundred will give him confidence for the remaining matches in the tournament.
