New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and was elected to bat first against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final. “We will bat first on a pretty good wicket, similar to what we played against India. Let’s put runs on the board. It is a big occasion in a good stadium. We are ready. Playing over here will help us. India played well in the previous match against us over here. Different guys have stood for us in other matches. It is good guys are firing for you,” Mitchell Santner said.
India captain Rohit Sharma refused to give importance to the toss. “I don’t mind batting second. It is a good wicket, and we chased comfortably in the last match. It is important to restrict them. We have chased and batted over here, so it gives you confidence. We are not concerned about whether we bat first or second. We will have to give our best,” Rohit Sharma said.
