India captain Rohit Sharma has schooled England opener Ben Duckett for his comment on Yashasvi Jaiswal. Ahead of the final Test match against the Ben Stokes-led team in Dharamshala, Sharma took a dig at Duckett for his comments that India opener started batting aggressively in Test cricket due to Bazball.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Rohit took Rishabh Pant’s help to remind the English opener about aggressive batting in red-ball cricket.
During the third Test match between the two teams in Rajkot, where Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed his second double hundred in the series. Duckett had credited Bazball for the way Jaiswal played.
“When you see batters from the other teams playing like that, we should get credit for influencing their batting,” Ben Duckett had said.
“It is exciting to see other teams and other players are going after the bowlers in Test cricket,” he had added.
Speaking at the press conference ahead of the final Test match, Rohit gave a befitting reply to the English batter.
“There was a guy Rishabh Pant in our team, probably Ben Duckett hasn’t seen his batting,” Rohit said.
Rohit was asked about Bazball once again and replied that he had not seen mindless hitting from England batters throughout the series.
“I don’t know what is the meaning of Bazball. England are playing better cricket than they were here on their previous tour,” he concluded.
