Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan and other films to watch on Article 370 amid Supreme Court’s verdict

Back in 2019, Article 370, which granted special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, was repealed. The state was bifurcated into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. Multiple petitions were filed challenging the abolition of the article and the Supreme Court is pronouncing its verdict on the same today.

Ahead of the verdict, here are some films based on the issue:

Pathaan

Shah Rukh Khan’s film begins with the Indian Government revoking Article 370 that grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir. This leads to turmoil, hate, revenge, followed by personal vendetta, and a man’s mission to save the country. The film does brim with style and humor, but it mixes its narrative with the kind of politics mainstream filmmakers may not feel comfortable to portray in their films.
