SRH skipper Pat Cummins wants his team to be aggressive in IPL 2024. Cummins, who was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a hefty sum of INR 20.50 crore, replaced Aiden Markram as captain after the team’s forgettable 2023 campaign. The Australia ODI and Test skipper joined the team in the first practice session on March 20.
Cummins said, “Well, I picked this sleeveless one, which I don’t prefer much, but it was the only shirt I could find since the rest are packed. So maybe next time I’ll be wearing something with sleeves, but orange looks great on me. The jersey is awesome!”
Cummins stated he aims to connect closely with some teammates he is less familiar with to understand what leadership they would want from their captain during the tournament.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad captain said he wants his team to begin the season strongly. He believes their squad has a good balance of youth and experience.
“My plans are to get to know my new teammates and understand how I can best support them on the field. I will also collaborate with the coaches to align on how I can contribute and meet their expectations. My goal is to start the season on a strong note, play aggressively, and help the team succeed against tough opponents like Kolkata.”
Cummins said ” The squad is filled with a great bunch talented players, including some experienced ones like Bhuvi and last year’s captain Aiden Markram. I am eager to watch the exciting young talents like Abhishek and Umran Malik. Havent seen much of their game. I am pumped about this season and the fans would be ecstatic as well.”
SRH will face KKR at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 23rd March for their first game in IPL 2024.
