Indian cricket fans were left disappointed as star batter Virat Kohli once again fell victim to Kagiso Rabada’s bowling in the ongoing Boxing Day Test against South Africa. The incident occurred in the 31st over of the first innings when Kohli, batting at 38 off 63, attempted a defensive shot off Rabada.
Despite showing great touch and hitting four boundaries, Kohli’s innings came to an abrupt end when the ball, moving away from him, found the outside edge of his bat. Wicketkeeper Kyle Verreyne made no mistake in pouching the catch, prompting a confident appeal from Rabada and Verreyne.
The umpire swiftly raised his finger, signaling Kohli’s departure from the crease. He failed to convert his start into a substantial score.
