Chennai Super Kings ruled out any possibility of signing a Mumbai Indians player for the Indian Premier League 2024.. “We don’t trade players with franchises and we don’t have anyone to trade with Mumbai Indians. There was no approach from our side and we don’t want to add any Mumbai Indians player to our team,” franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Cricbuzz during IPL 2024 auction, rubbishing reports that they spoke to Mumbai about Rohit Sharma.
Meanwhile, Mark Boucher, the head coach of Mumbai Indians, said that there is no dispute in the camp.
“We spoke to senior players before making Hardik our captain. It is a transition phase and Mumbai Indians decided to move forward. Rohit Sharma was fantastic as a captain but it was time to look at the future and take a call’,” he said.
“I don’t go by social media stuff. I know a lot is happening on the sites but there is no point in giving importance to that. I think Mumbai Indians handled the change in captaincy pretty well. We understand the emotions of our fans but this a transitional phase for the franchise. It was done keeping our future in mind and we have to stick by it,” he added.
