The IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) is generating immense excitement, but weather could disrupt the match, as thunderstorms are predicted on June 3. This is a major concern for the fans and the stakeholders.
Both RCB and PBKS are chasing their first-ever IPL title after failures. The outcome of the match would bring glory for one franchise. However, the weather will play a crucial role, as the final can only take place if the rain stays away.
RCB head into the final with an edge, having convincingly beaten PBKS by eight wickets in Qualifier 1. On the other hand, PBKS showed great resilience in Qualifier 2, securing a dominant win over Mumbai Indians under pressure.
Officials are determined to ensure the match is played on June 3, with a two-hour window to cover up any delay. If the weather conditions remain unfavorable and the match cannot proceed, the action will shift to the reserve day on June 4.
If the match doesn’t take place on both days, the trophy will go to the team that finished higher in the league standings. PBKS, who finished on top with nine wins from 14 games under Shreyas Iyer’s leadership, will be crowned champions by default. If the game is tied, a Super Over will decide the winner. In the event of a tie in the Super Over, more Super Overs will be played until a winner emerges. With the stakes high, everyone involved will be hoping the weather does not interfere with what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to IPL 2025.
